Job Requirements for PLASMA TABLE OPERATOR
In a diversified steel fabrication environment, you will be responsible for…….
- Maintaining & operating the plasma cutting table
- Coping with repetitive procedures & tasks
- Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Precise measuring with good math skills
- Operate the plasma table safely and efficiently, using oxyfuel and plasma cutting process to cut steel up to 4” thick
- Operate overhead crane safely and properly load and unload burn table including identification of manufactured parts and disposal of scrap material
- Label all parts correctly
- Perform grinding and slag removal on all parts.
- Safely and efficiently unload steel plate into the proper storage area or bin
- Conduct light maintenance in assigned area
- Keep work area safe and organized including end of shift clean up
- Use Machine Safety first mindset. Must be of utmost importance in your everyday routines
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with cut quality andor cutting efficiency.
- Proper safe use of all hand tools
- Adept at understanding and following written and verbal procedures
- Capable of handling all materials safely using an overhead crane.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Follow all safety guidelines regarding safe operations of all equipment and shop movement.
- Able to work independently but also contribute to our team atmosphere.
- Ask questions if unsure of procedures
- To accomplish a full 8-hour day you may be directed to other tasks which may include operation of a bandsaw or cleaning or organizing specific shop areas.
